At least one foreign language constitutes one of
the European educational systems’ main challen-
ges for this new century. That is the reason why our
school is workin hard in order that students achieve
satisfactory levels of competence in foreign langua-
ges at the completion of their education. We share
that widespread worry with families and society be-
cause we know the the relevance given nowadays to
the fact of being fluent in more than one European
Community language.
The new law of plurilingualism has changed some
aspects in language teaching. In our school we pro-
gram so that all the students develop their comp-
tenece in the two official languages plus English.
They will also be able to study French at ESO and
Bachillerato. In addition they can study German and
Japanese in extra curricular lessons
When Coselleria accepts the proposal we have
made, we will publish the subjects that will be taught
in Spanish, in Valencian and in English. In any case,
official recognitions will continue to be an element
of extraordinary motivation. In this way, we will pro-
mote Trinity and Cambridge exams and Junta Qula-
ficador a for valenciano.
Many students of 4th ESO and Bachillerato have
received last month the certification of the De-
partment that accredits its level A-2 in English
and French. It is a first step that will lead you to
obtain other higher levels of knowledge of langua-
ges. Congratulations to all those who have succe-
eded!
In May and June there will be Trinity and Cam-
bridge exams, and certifications in Valencian. Every
year students will have this options, so those who
have not enrolled this year can do so next year. Our
school will facilitate both the preparation and enroll-
ment in the exams through Activa Languages, which
is highly recognized,
